Mission Statement

The Burlington County Tennis Association (BCTA) is a multi-cultural grass roots organization that solely believes each individual has the ability to learn to play tennis. Therefore, it is our primary goal and mission to educated, train, and expose others to the game of tennis.  We believe through dedication, commitment, and teamwork The Burlington County Tennis Association can act as a catalyst to pull families and communities together.

About Us

Founded by Debbie and Isiah "Ike" Johnson in 1997. Located in Mt. Laurel, NJ. BCTA has quickly earned a reputation for promoting diversity in the sport by encouraging children and adults of all ethnic backgrounds to play tennis through a broad spectrum of educational and outreach programs.

BCTA works with recreation departments, indoor racquet clubs, and school and community-based organizations to promote tennis by providing free clinics, seminars and in-school assemblies. Over the many years the number of participants has already risen to well over 2,000. With this record of success, The Burlington County Tennis Association has been the recipient of many awards over the years, including the District and Sectional 1999 "Organization of the Year (Non-Profit)" award and Ike Johnson,  USTA - NJ District Pro of the Year 2011, 2015 - Middle States Premier Provider - CTA, just to name a few.

In addition to offering the full array of USTA programs, BCTA has partnered with the local VFW-American Legion to provide free-lesson workshops for children at risk. Ike Johnson, over 30-year tennis instructor and BCTA's Executive Director, has enabled the association to expand its curriculum by successfully encouraging local businesses to sponsor tennis programs and persuading sporting goods stores to donate equipment.

BCTA will be participating in the racquet-testing process by working with Medford Leas, a senior citizen's adult community, and the Burlington County Junior Traveling Tennis Team.
